Need 7.5 Gamefisher info & Question

I just bought a 7.5 Gamefisher Model# 217-585750 Serial# 28-210500. Does anyone know what year this is. Also where can I get a manual for it. Also the guy that I bought it from ran it out of the water. Can this damage the engine. <br /><br />Thanks <br />Mitchell

Welcome to ibats. <br /><br />Good news and bad news. The powerhead is air cooled. But the exhaust is water cooled. The powerhead will run without water, but it runs better with. The water pump impeller will burn out in seconds if there is no water being pumped. You might be able to get parts from Sears. Google Sears Parts and have your model number handy. Yours is a 1982 built by Eska with a Tecumseh powerhead.

How can you tell if it is burnt up. Water is spraying from the top 2 exhuast holes. I dropped it in water this morning and ran it for 20 min. Little cold running, but seems to be running fine. what do you think?<br /><br />Mitchell
