Nautic Star - 224 XTS vs 2200 Sport?

I have been researching Nautic Star boats after seeing them at a recent boat show.

I am currently trying to figure out the difference between the 224 XTS and the 2200 Sport. The website lists the XTS as the "ultimate tournament boat" versus the sport being listed as people who are more casual fisherman (and hence cheaper).

But when I look at the specifications, except for the max motor that can be put on it and the size of the rear live well, the specs look exactly the same.

I feel like I am missing something though as the boats seem so similar online.

Can someone please fill me in?

Has anyone ever rode in both boats to compare?

The specs are the same? Over 2 ft., 400 lbs, 17 gal. of fuel and more are different. All 3 livewells/fish boxes are the same capacity.

You're right. Trying to compare with too many of the same numbers in the model name.

If you look at the features of each boat, there are some differences. It looks like the XTS has upgraded fishability features.

Which features did you notice? All I saw was the number of rod holders, size of back livewell, and the size of the engine you could use. Was there anything else?

The livewells are the same size - 13, 37 and 30 Gals. The XTS has recirculation pumps, more cleats and there are console differences, too. You have to look line by line. The XTS is 4 in. longer, as well.

Thank you for all the replies. This will actually be my first boat so I am trying to learn about all the features. I wouldn't even have known to look for the recirc pumps.. seems I will need to read up on those. Also, will research the console differences as that is not my strong point either. Thanks for all the help so far!!!

If you have a NauticStar dealer near by, just go and start looking and asking questions. You might even run across another boat you like more.

My apologies! A belated :welcome: to iboats
