This is a followup to my thread http://forums.iboats.com/non-boating-technical-topics/oil-natural-gas-heating-conversion-ballpark-cost-532628.html#post4095069.

Since I've got the go-ahead to switch from oil to natural gas, I've just started doing a little research. There are rebates available from the gas/electric company I have that I want to take advantage of. I currently have a 100,000 BTU oil fired hot water heating system (boiler is 9 years old) with finned baseboard type radiation. Domestic hot water is from a tankless coil on the boiler.

I want to get a high-efficiency NG boiler and water heater unit. It shouldn't be too big a deal to switch over to the rest of the current plumbing for the system. I actually saw them do this very project either on This Old House, or Ask This Old House, I can't remember which. I tried to find reference to it on their websites, but can't find it anywhere..???

Can anyone recommend some "good" (meaning "major") brands for NG boilers/water heaters? How are the reliability records for NG boilers?

PVI located in Ft Worth is a major builder of commercial gas fired water heaters. But we are talking about big suckers.
