Time for a long standing Nascar race custom - The Darlington 500 during the Labor Day weekend Sunday. On Saturday X-Men are running at Darlington, while Trucks are road racing at Mosport Park on the northern shores of Lake Ontario up in Bowmanville, Ontario. The Darlington 500 Cup race is Sunday evening.
L̶o̶o̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶M̶R̶N̶ ̶s̶c̶h̶e̶d̶u̶l̶e̶,̶ ̶X̶-̶M̶e̶n̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶T̶r̶u̶c̶k̶ ̶r̶a̶c̶e̶s̶ ̶w̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶s̶o̶m̶e̶ ̶o̶v̶e̶r̶l̶a̶p̶.̶ I should learn how to read a schedule. :doh:
Cup has an entry list with 40 teams, so a full field will take the green flag. Trucks should have good weather, but Darlington has a lot of rain forecast, bands from the remnants of Harvey I guess. The rain should end overnight Saturday into Sunday.

- One of the features of Darlington is a throwback theme. Many cars will have paint and decals reminiscent of days gone by.
- Speaking of throwbacks, Chase Elliott is going back next year. He is taking his father bill's old number 9 and William Byron, Kasey Kahne's replacement, will jump in the 24. The #5 will be gone and that was Hendricks first car number when he entered Cup racing.
- The leading contenders to take Erik Jones seat in the #77 are Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth. At least they were the top of the list 2 days ago.
- With only 2 races remaining before the playoffs begin, Monster/Nascar revealed the 2017 Championship trophy. It looks like a Druid chalice. LOL
- TV ratings For Bristol - 0.9 and 4.23M viewers. The prior 3 years were 1.5/2.7M viewers, 2.1/3.6M viewers and 3.2/5.1M viewers. So this year a lot of viewers sharing the same TV.
