We have Cup and Trucks running at Martinsville this week. X-Men show again next week. From MRN, the event schedule;

Cup racing is back on FS1. :blue: Once again the field is short, only 38 teams this week. After some rain and t-storms Friday, the rest of the weekend looks good.

News and Notes
  • Will only Charter teams be showing up in the future? After 4 straight races with only 39 teams in the race, this week only 38 are on the entry list. TV ratings & viewers dropping, along with falling race attendance - It may be time for Nascar to read the tea leaves.
  • SHR has dropped the appeal of penalties from the Phoenix race for an unapproved track bar assembly. I guess the #4 team really got caught.
  • On the other hand, Penske is appealing the #2 penalties for flunking post-race inspection at Phoenix. Kinda strange because the 3 race crew chief suspension had begun at Fontana. Very puzzling to wait one race before appealing.
  • The crew chief for Daniel Suarez, Dave Rodger, is taking an indefinite leave of absence. Now word from Gibbs why.
  • Atlanta is delaying the planned repave for a year. It was planned to start after the race in February to have it finished for next year. Drivers questioned the need and Atlanta decided to keep the money in the bank for an extra year.
  • Chip Ganassi is concerned that Kyle Larson drives sprint cars during his time off. His concerns were raised following the death of David Steele during a sprint car race last week. Smoke's long forced layoff a couple of years ago after shattering his leg in a sprint car wreck also probably contributed to Ganassi's comments.
  • TV ratings - 2.9 down from 3.5 last year. Blaming March Madness, of course. So will Sunday's race with no NCAA BB competition also see a decline? Time will tell.

iBoats Fantasy Live

This is the sixth race of the year, so it's too early give up. Make roster changes before the race on Sunday.

For the second time this season, TB2448 took home the honors. Congrats, TB and slurp away.

You might want to do a small amount of editing there, I think you have mixed X men and Trucks up!

Thanks MT. :facepalm:

Rain is messing things up. They squeezed in the Cup and 1st TRUCK :D practice after a delay. Cats and dogs before the 2nd TRUCK practice and advised the fans to take cover. So things are on hold for the time being.

Suarez wrecked in Cup practice and moved to his backup. TDillon had some tire issues, no idea how serious.

Suarez also said his CC, Dave Rodgers, took leave for personal matters. Other than that :noidea:

In the Truck race;

Elliott won Heat #1, Bell won Heat #2 and Elliott won the "A" Main. Sauter, Bell, Gragson and TDillon round out the top 5.

Cup green flag waves at 2:13 tomorrow. Fix up your roster if you're playing iFL. Good luck.

Maybe it's not worth it. Less than 40 laps in and lapping already.

Heat #1 ends on lap 130.

Caution on lap 70 for Stenhouse spin.

Heat #2 was caution free. At the very end Shrubby tried to get around Stenhouse to put him a lap down. As Shrubs went around, Stenhouse bumped him and Elliott scooted to the lead for the heat win. Go #24. :thumb:

Joey lost a tire during the stage and is a couple of laps down. Only 17 on the lead lap, including Stenhouse.

Rats - Caution for debris a couple of laps after the start of the "A" Main and Shrubby has a bad (good) tire rub while leading Elliott for 1-2.

Losing track of cautions. #8 was for Busch41 after his failed mash up quick fix and #9 was for Gaulding spinning. Got it? I hope so. :D
