Almost too late kicking off this weeks festivities at Kentucky. The weather saved my bacon. All cup practices on Wednesday were canceled due to weather.
Here is the schedule from MRN for Thursday through Saturday; I hope all of you who stayed until the bitter end have recovered. 3AM Monday morning was pretty freakin' late!

Since weather has already had a hand in the activities at Kentucky. Here is the forecast for Thursday - Tuesday. Qualifying may be impacted like last week at Daytona;

Saturday night looks OK.

There are 46 entries, so 3 will be watching the race from the top of the hauler

News & Notes
  • A new aero package is debuting at Kentucky. The lack of practice with the new package could hurt the "less advantaged" teams.
  • The Kentucky low down force package or a variation will also be run at Darlington. Michigan, Indy and Richmond
  • The crews that rushed to assist Austin Dillon after his horrific crash at the end of Sunday/Monday's Daytona race will not be penalized. Well, doh! There will be some talking about non-Nascar safety crews reacting to wrecks like this. But Nascar will never admit that they have no dedicated safety crews like NHRA and IndyCar.
  • Two of the fans injured when Dillon's #3 barrel rolled into the catch fence are suing. They have retained the prestigious firm of Morgan & Morgan, the ones I see here on TV. No comment!
  • Of course there is a lot of talk about restrictor plate racing after Dillon tried to tear down the catch fences through no fault of his own.
  • Do you believe this? This week's Daytona race had higher TV ratings than last year. The WWC final match ate Nascar's lunch, even with the non-overlap due to rain at Daytona. U - S - A :D
  • Sad news - Buddy Baker has announced that he has an inoperable lung tumor, Best wishes, Buddy.

Our latest winner and first 4 time winner this year is FlaCowboy . He has 4 of these bad boys - :first: Congrats, Cowboy!
aspeck is holding on to the overall lead.
Get your picks and or changes in before the race Saturday evening. Good luck, iboaters

They need to come up with a package that everybody can live with and leave it at that, I am glad they are not assessing penalties to the guys that were trying to help! As I said, I am not a fan of the Dillon brothers, but I don't want to see anyone hurt or killed and I am glad that his injuries are relatively minor compared to what it looked like could happen Monday morning. I do think it is ridiculous to talk about slowing them down, they already took a couple of hundred HP out of the engines and the crews have already figured out how to get them back to 200 mph, before you know, they are going to be running Prius's on the track!

NASCAR not making changes during, or, the off season? It's not in their vocabulary. I get tired of the constant changes they have been making throughout the years. Except the safety ones. They certainly shouldn't be making changes during the season. People suing? Now there's a shock...... They're lucky the catch fence worked great or they may not be here to sue. I can't remember if NASCAR has a disclaimer when they buy tickets. I'm sure they do.....

Trucks tonite......yay!

I'm really getting tired of all the changes through the season. Safety is understandable, but not performance changes made with little or no testing because Nascar won't let teams test outside of their occasional organized track days.

Disclaimers on tickets are worthless. Ask any ambulance chaser. A deep pocket organization will just pay to make it go away.

Rain is playing havoc again. Rained out yesterday, delaying practices today also. The Titans are out, but the track has weepers. I don't know how well Titans work on water coming from below. :noidea:

So far in 2 days, not a wheel has turned. All practices and Truck qualifying have been cancelled. Next on the agenda is the Truck race green flag at 7:48. MMM - Will it go down the drain?

Well it looks like sun on the track right now and they have been cutting slits in the track to drain water, so the X men might actually get some practice in today.

And they actually got the Truck race in, too. Matt Crafton is the winner.

In between rain drops, Cup squeezed in a little less than an hour of practice. Due to the threat of rain the two scheduled practices were combined. Cup and X-Men qualifying has been canceled, so the fields will be set based on the abbreviated practice sessions. JJ Yeley has the pole for the X-Men tonight and Kyle Larson is on point for Cup tomorrow tonight. Blaney, McDowell and Kvapil are sitting this one out.

Has anyone clicked on Nascar.com's live weather updates. You have to look at this professional forecasting service by Nascar - http://www.nascar.com/en_us/news-me...entucky-weather-updates-quaker-state-400.html

Erik Jones came up the bridesmaid two nights in a row.

Keso took the X-Men checkers over him tonight and last night the final red flag/calling the race with 5 to go killed his chances to win the Trucks..

Isn't that the 5th race Keso has won on that track? Man he seems to be building his legacy in the Blue Grass State.

Yeppers, MT. He's won 3 of the last 5 Busch/N-Wide/X-Men and 2 Cup - Last year and 2012. It has to be one of his favorite tracks.

So Keso hits the tire coming out of the pit box and the tire isn't kept under control. No penalty?

Because he hit his crew member which dislodged the tire. It wasn't the tire guy who lost control on his own, he had help. That was basically the explanation...
