Nascar - Pocono Cup II And Trucks, Nationwide At Iowa

A split venue this week. Pocono is hosting the Go Bowling.com 400 Cup race and the Pocono Mountains 125 truck race. Iowa is the home of the U.S. Cellular 250 N-Wide race. The truck series will race Saturday afternoon, N-Wide in the evening and Cup has a Sunday kickoff at 1:18. There are rain chances for the weekend. :grumpy:

Cup qualifying is Friday at 3:40. Only six races left before the Chase. Gordon nailed a Chase slot with his second win of the season. Some notables still looking from the outside are Kahne, Stewart and Biffle. Any driver getting his first win in these next six races will bump the bottom driver in spots 12-16 out.

In the News

Denny Hamlin and Gibbs were docked 75 driver points and owner points for having holey firewall block-off plates. Also Darian Grubb was fined $125K and suspended for the next six races. In a statement, Gibbs said "Ooops, we got caught!" I made that up. :lol:

Mark Martin is back with Roush. Not to drive, but as Driver Development Coach.

Finally, Goodyear has a tire test scheduled for Homestead Aug. 26th. Drivers in the Chase at that time will not be allowed to take part. RTA protest, anyone?

In Fantasy Live, The Admiral beat all of us guys. I hope you feel bad! She threw my trophy in the trash to make room for her :first:. :blue: But a happy Admiral is a happy me. 84osby is still leading FlaCowboy in the overall standings. The N-Wide winner at Iowa was Keso and Trevor Bayne carried off the Dash For Cash jumbo check in the amount of 100 grand for his third place finish.

I was surprised The Twerp didn't run the truck race. What is he, 5 for 5 in trucks this year?
