Race 14 of the season at MIS - Michigan International Speedway this week. We have a Cup race on Sunday and the X-Men compete on Saturday. Trucks are running Saturday evening in St. Louis. The Michigan schedule from MRN; mich.PNG

MRN's Truck schedule; stl.PNG

Will weather come to play at MIS? It just might, here is the forecast; mi-wx.PNG

The Cup entry list has 44 teams, Brendan Gaughan must be in the top 36. If qualifying is canceled, Blaney goes home.

News, Notes and Off The Wall
  • Martin Truex Jr. wants to get his contract settled with Front Row Racing. His current deal runs through the end of the year and he feels locking up a Chase spot after winning last week should cause a push to Git 'er Dun,
  • Taking about FRR and Truex, The team owner may be looking to move from under the Bowtie. He's looking for manufacturer support and Chevy isn't opening the pocketbook. Don't be surprised if the #78 has a Blue Oval or TRD logo on the grille next year.
  • Hey, Hey - JJ and the #48 team won their appeal of one of the written warnings issued for two consecutive races. The appeal was for the warning issued for a pulled out side skirt during the Coke 600. The penalty was last choice in pit stalls for the next race after the 2nd warning.
  • Hey, Hey - JJ and the #48 team got another written warning for failing Pocono pre-race inspection 3 times. This makes the 3rd warning this year (4 counting the overturned one), but it is consecutive. So lets see what the boys at Nascar come up with this time.
  • Kyle Busch is returning to old form and is driving the #54 XFINITY Toyota at Michigan.
  • After last weeks qualifying bungle when only 5 drivers completed a lap in the final session when Hamlin spun with only a short time left, killing the Q-Clock, Nascar is looking at a change to the Q-ing rules. The current rule states when Q-ing isn't completed, the non-finishing cares are placed based on speeds in the prior session. By spinning, Hamlin started in 6th ahead of the remaining 4 cars because he had the 2nd fastest session 2 speed, even though he caused the stoppage.
  • Nascar is looking at track specific aero packages. Watch for more written warnings since the teams can't get it right with just one package.
  • Did you hear about the guy in Colorado who shot himself in the foot to see what it felt like? Not satisfied, he pulled on his boot and did it again!

iboats Fantasy Live
The winner of the Pocono FL race was FlaCowboy, his third :first: of the year. aspeck is still sitting on top of the flagpole, our overall leader.
Play around with your Fantasy Live teams before the green flag drops on Sunday and good luck! Maybe FL will work better during the race this week. And maybe not!

The Humpster.

You guys are gonna have to run this race without me. Sunday is crazy with morning service and then a viewing and funeral for a parishioner. I will be wishing I was watching the race ...

I wish you could watch the race too, 'speck. Life get in the way sometimes.

An update on penalties. In addition to the Johnson warning, Danica, Hornish and Gilliland got warnings for flunking inspections as well. JJ and Danica will lose 15 minutes of practice this week. So they have 180 minutes of practice instead of 195 minutes like the rest.

Michigan qualifying is over. Kasey Kahne is on the pole. The rest of the top 12 are Harvick, Keso, Edwards, Blaney, Gordon, A. Dillon, Johnson, Truex Jr., Shrubby, Logono and Kenseth. Gaughan is gone.

Ku. Busch punched the wall during practice and will start in the back driving his backup .

I am not surprised that Gaughan is gone, that team has some kind of problem, in the practice session he was 21 mph behind the fastest guys who were in the 200 to 202 area!

Gaughan did a little better in qualifying, but still way off the pace. Maybe this is a tax write-off team. :noidea:

Thanks MT. He should finish at 36... I'd like to see him break out for one race this year.... Maybe 'Tona or 'Dega if he can make the race.....

Taking my son trout fishing on one of the bigger streams tomorrow, it will be his time trout fishing.

The solunar charts show one of the highest peak fishing days of the year. :thumb: Monday is even better but that 4 letter word is getting in the way.:blue:

Hoping we come home with two limits. That would make the Admiral happy, and me.:D

I was out for a while and missed the start of the race. Not really, they only squeezed in 13 laps before the red flag flew for rain.
