Cup and Nationwide racing at the Daytona International Speedway tonight and tomorrow night for Cup. Trucks are next Friday at Iowa and the others will be in New Hampshire.

This is race #18, so 9 to go, including Daytona, to set the Chase field. Right now Stewart is in the final (16th) position point-wise, but he and Kahne (15) are out because Hamlin and Ku. Busch each have a win, 17th and 26th in points, and are almost guaranteed spots in the Chase.

Qualifying is this afternoon - N-Wide at 3:10 and Cup at 5:10 followed by the N-Wide Subway Firecracker 250 ay 7PM. The Coke Zero 400 is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM Saturday. The 2nd Cup practice was rained out yesterday by aspeck's hurricane - He even named it after himself.:D By hook or by crook, he is serious about gaining on FlaCowboy and 64osby. Arthur hit NC, apparently not causing much serious damage and is headed to New England. Y'all keep an eye peeled up there.

In the iboats Fantasy Live league, Tinknocker broke Cowboy's 2 race win streak and took home :first:, followed by 64osby and kyle k. Overall Cowboy still has the top spot, but 64osby pulled a little closer and trails by only 76 points. Hurricane Art slid back some and is trailing Cowboy by 330. It's still a horse race!

So make your league changes, watch the weather, munch some hot dogs (please, not like those guys at Coney Island which is about to start), be careful with the fireworks and have a great Independence Day! Good luck everyone.

I just saw Dakota Armstrong won the N-Wide pole. Their Q-ing was cut short by 8 minutes after 9 cars got into a mini-big one. They said it was a quick pop-up shower, but I think Cowboy was practicing long distance mustard squirts and pickle slice sailing.

Yikes - Right in the eye.
Cup Q-ing was rained out after the first session. On the pole - Gilliland followed by Sorenson, Cassill, Bobby Labonte and JJ. I think the Nationwide race might be a little soggy. Right now the dryers are on the track with #1 leading but the rest aren't closing the gap.

They hold a line pretty good. If they drift - Oh no, the big one. Ask Juan Pablo. I'm picking Jim "Big Windy" Santana!

It didn't take long for caution #3, maybe half a lap?
