Second race in the Round of 12, the 5th race in the Chase - Hollywood Casino 400 from Kansas. Cup and X-Men will be running and no Trucks until next week. Only 5 too many Cup drivers in the X-Chase race. :blue: Jimmie Johnson got the Golden Ticket to the 3rd playoff round at rain delayed Charlotte. The eleven remaining Chasers drivers will be trying to avoid elimination this week and next week to move on to the next round with JJ. From MRN, the schedule;




News and Notes

• Ryan Newman, after a lot of speculation about being forced out at RCR by Childress grandson Ty Dillon joining the Cup series, has signed a multi-year contract extension.
• Charlotte inspection warnings - Almost half the field, 1̶6̶ 18 teams, got written warnings for failed template and laser inspections. A new record?
• Truex Jr, says he made a mistake pushing too hard on A. Dillon on a late-race restart. The resulting wreck took out or damaged 12 cars, including several Chasers. All told, 5 Chasers had troubles - Crashing out or car issues.
• TV Ratings - The lowest of the low. The worst Chase race ratings ever, beating out Dover the week before as the least watched Chase race. The rain delay forcing the race to Sunday didn't help.

The iFL Championship is getting tighter. After the Dover rave, 64osby and FlaCowboy moved into 2nd and 3rd place in the overall standings. In the Charlotte race, 64 had another good showing by gaining almost 100 points on Trackchick Stars. TcS now has a 273 point edge with 6 races to go. Anything can happen!​

Kansas qualifying just finished. Kenseth wins the pole. Behind him are Shrubby, Edwards, Truex, Bowman, Logano, Hamlin, Keselowski, Newman, Allmendinger, Harvick, and Dillon.

Once again a Non-Xer won the Xfinity race. Sadler was the highest placing X-Man.

3 races into the 6 race X-Chase and only 1 X-er win. Cuppers have won two.

I wonder how vocal Cup Chasers Shrubby, Larson Logano, and A. Dillon, would be if Non-Cuppers took away points and or a win and they didn't advance to the final?

Boy, I wonder who had to kiss who's you know what to get fly over with a B2 Stealth Bomber, they don't take them out on a Sunday stroll very often!

It was a Stealth bomber - I couldn't see it. LOL

Watch the end of the race. Shrubby and Larson were penalized for doin' the Swerve after the checkers at Charlotte. All they got was 30 less minutes of practice at Kansas. No points were deducted when swerving is to meant to push the rear into laser inspection compliance.

Lap 27 - 1st yellow for debris on the backstretch. Looked like a chunk of foam.

1st real caution, #2. Ragan swiped across the rear of Almirola, causing him to spin, 'Rola ripped off the front of his car.

Hamlin is having troubles with the right front, too.

A couple of laps after the restart and McMurray cuts a tire after contact with Bowman and scrapes the wall. Yellow #3.

115 laps in the books and Kenseth has lead 106. Only 19 cars on the lead lap. I thought this aero package was to make for more exciting racing.

4th caution for Wise being too familiar with the wall.

After green flag stops, Larson mashes the wall for the 5th caution. 90 laps left.

Elliott has another run of bad luck. Tire rub after pitting and made 2 more stops to fix it.

Caution #6 for Keso.

Hamlin took air off or nudged the back of Keso's car. The spin through the grass junked the front end of the #2.

The 7th caution for Keso smoking after returning back to the track.

8th yellow for smith losing a tire with 33 to go. Elliott gets the lucky dog.

Harvick wins Kansas and moves to the next round. Elliott, Keso, Dillon and Hamlin are on the outside looking in and Talladega is the next race.

Boatman37 has the unofficial 16 point lead before lugnut and laser testing. Tuesday we find out.
