With 12 drivers remaining in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship, Charlotte is the place. A Saturday night race is planned if Matthew and the weathermen cooperate. Right now the Charlotte vicinity could be relatively dry and breezy, but if the storm moves a bit more to the West, all bets are off. Thursday looks OK for Cup practice and qualifying. Friday and Saturday are the question marks and while forecast conditions may not be tropical, rain bands from the storm are always a possibility. Trucks are off this week, returning at 'Dega.
Let's say it stays dry, so here is the MRN schedule;

One race can make a difference as shown by the points swing from Dover. Keep that in mind as you make your picks. Good luck.

- A reward for the regular season champ? There is talk of the points leader for the 26 race season to receive some reward or bonus, possibly a bye into the 2nd round of the playoffs.
- Dover penalties - 9 teams got demerits for failing various pre-race lasers. All 16 of the Chasers passed the post-race flashlight test.
- Dover must have been one of the most boring races in years. Officially Truex won by almost 8 seconds or a third of the track and only 6 cars were on the lead lap.
- TV ratings - The downward spiral continues, the lowest ratings ever Chase race. Is it any wonder that no Cup sponsor has been announced? Here are the last ten races, Kentucky to Dover;

StormChaser FlaCowboy winning over 64osby by only 3.5 points was the highlight of a :yawn: race. FC now has 2 of these :first: on his mantle. Congrats Mr. Cowboy.
For the first time in a long time, second place in the overall standings isn't occupied by TcS or Vertical Pedal. Sure TcS is still leading by only by 381 points, but FlaCowboy and 64osby scored big, almost 300 points more than TcS in a single race, pushing VP with only 8 points, into 4th place. 64 is now 2nd and FC is in 3rd.
