This final race in the Round of 16 will eliminate the 4 lowest point Chasers, leading to the Round of 12. Right now it's McMurray, Dillon, Stewart and Buescher - Unless one of them wins on Sunday. X-men have their 2nd Chase race at Dover and Trucks are at Vegas for their 2nd.

From MRN, the Dover and Vegas schedules;

It's raining in Dover at this writing and will be raining through early Sunday according to the forecast. :blue:

News and Notes
  • Tony Stewart is on the verge of Chase elimination and says he is feeling frustrated. Maybe he's going through the motions until he gets the gold watch? He does plan on 40-50 sprint-car races next year.
  • Smaller pit crews next year? One of the tire carrier spots may get the ax.
  • Dale Jr. continues to improve. He will be in the pit box for the X-men and Cup races this weekend, while Gordon is in the #88 at Dover.
  • Only one mystery debris caution at New Hampshire.
  • All Chasers made it through post-race laser A-OK, including Harvick who dinged the rear during his victory burnout. Shrubby had to be re-weighed after coming up light, but passed after topping of fluids. After the race none of the Chasers did any weaving and bobbing to nudge the cars for lasers.
  • 8 cars had trouble in pre-race and qualifying resulting in a few warnings.
  • TV ratings, not too bad. Only the lowest Chase race ever, beating (???) the previous low from last week.

iBOATS Fantasy Live

Trackchick Stars won again. And is still the overall leader. Congrats, TcS.

Only 8 races left to try to move up in the standings or grab a win this year. Pick wisely my friends.

Rainy and wet conditions have caused the cancellation of Cup qualifying. Starting spots are determined by driver points. On pole is Keso, followed by Truex Jr., Shrubby, Kenseth, Logano, Harvick, Hamlin, Johnson, Elliott, Edwards, Busch41, Larson, McMurray, Dillon, Stewart and bringing up the rear, Buescher.

Since it's been raining for the last few days and Nascar had nothing better to do except twiddle their thumbs and were getting restless, they changed rules again! :facepalm: In addition to the previous 3 or more missing lugnuts and failing the post-race lasers, now a low clearance car, a high car or a too light car will cause an "encumbered finish". Shrubby was too light following New Hampshire, but fluids were topped off and he made weight.

I think Nascar is bound and determined to make a Chaser lose a win to automatically qualify for the next playoff round so they can use the club to show who is the boss.

I wonder what next week will bring - Not wearing Nascar approved underwear or having holey socks? Maybe munching on a post-race snack of Raisinets instead of the official candy of Nascar, M&Ms! :eek:

Non-Chaser Tyler Riddick wins the Truck race in Lost Wages.

Rain continued to haunt Dover and it caused a rare Sunday double-header. The revised Dover schedule;

Missed it. Too much channel flippin' between Dover and London for football.

Just caught a replay video - Ouch. He will ache. That car is junk!

Suarez won the X-Men race and locks into the next playoff round - Unless to updated rules catch him.

It's a good thing Harvick has a win so he can stay in the Chase.

Larson cuts a tire and just before halfway, caution #3. I think Larson (5 laps down) and McMurray with motor issues, fall out of the Chase, along with Buescher and Smoke unless he pulls off the win.

McMurray brings out #4 with his motor.

Halfway with 17 on the lead lap and Johnson leading.

Truex wins his 2nd Chase race by more than 12 seconds. Only 6 cars on the lead lap.

Smoke, Larson, McMurray and Buescher fall by the wayside. No Championship for Tony as he fades into the retirement sunset.

iFL unofficial winner is the Rib Bone Kid - FlaCowboy. :D He and 64osby are close, 3.5 points, count those lugnuts!

It looks like 64's ploy to throw some loose lugnuts around in FlaCowboy's direction didn't work. The inspectors were unimpressed! :lol: The Cowboy got his 2nd :first: of the year. Congrats FC.

In the overall standings, things may get interesting. Trackchickie is still ahead, even with an uncharacteristic poor showing at Dover and Vertical Pedal fell even further off the pace. In the final laps, FlaCowboy used the chrome horn as he took the win and pushed TcS and VP out of the way, while 64 took advantage of them and scooted to the inside.

TcS still leads the overall, but 64 and FC are now in 2nd and 3rd place as VP faded.

Will the overall race tighten even more? Stay tuned as we venture to Charlotte for the start of round 2 of the Chase with Cup and X-Men, while Trucks return in a couple of weeks at Talladega.

Congrats to FC. :D Nice win. But I thought passing on pit lane was against the rules.:faint2:

GA, TsC has a 400 point lead as I recall. That is going to be a tough lead to overcome, unless she has all of her drivers pull a Harvick or a Larson for a few races.;)
