Got a split weekend - Cup and Trucks at Michigan, with X-Men doing a road race at Mid-Ohio. Bill Elliott is coming out of retirement for this race. Elliott's return may be the a first with a Hall Of Famer driving again.

Weather for Friday is iffy, but the rest of the weekend looks OK. Cup has 40 entries, so a rare full field. From MRN, Michigan and Mid-Ohio schedules;

News and Notes
  • Penalties - Only one and it's Brian France!
  • TV ratings - Watkins Glen was on NBC, last year on NBCSN. Sunday's race drew 2.3 with 3.67M viewers on NBC and last year on NBCSN it was 2.2/3.35M. The flip-flop is not a unique occurrence - The June Michigan race on broadcast TV had higher ratings over last year.
  • It's a short one news week except for Brian France!

iBoats Fantasy Live
  • Jip is the latest iFL winner, his second this year. Congrats, Jip. 🏆
  • FlaCowboy added to his overall lead - Again! :blue:
  • The pole locks tomorrow at 5:00PM ET - Weather permitting.

Good to know, that Chase got a "real" win and not a cucumbered win!

This has been a few weeks of difficult couple of weeks for me and Fantasy ... schedules have precluded me from seeing our being in touch with qualifying or the actual race ... have a funeral at 3PM on Sunday that I am officiating, so there goes Sundays check-ins ...

Got back from the beach a few minutes to late to pick the pole winner ... will try to pick the rest tonight before packing and heading home ... hate it when tragedy strikes on vacation.

Sorry your vacation was cut short, 'speck - No matter the reason.

Hamlin lead all 3 qualifying stages to take the pole. The Twerp, Harvick, Jones, ADillon, Newman, Truex, Blaney, Joey, Bowman, Almirola and Busch41 round out the top 12.

Suarez smacked the wall in the 1st round and had no recorded time. The full Q'ing results - https://www.nascar.com/results/race...p-series/consumers-energy-400/stn/qualifying/

1st Cup practice was only 15 minutes because of fog. The second practice went off without a hitch except Chase Elliott had a damage free spin.

In Cup final practice, Joey was fastest, followed The Twerp, Bowman, Harvick, Larson, Blaney, Hamlin, Bowyer, Jones and Byron.

Truck are about to start at Michigan.

Friesen wins Truck heat 1. The heat was only 20 laps, as is heat 2.

Enfinger wins the 2nd heat. Had a couple of single car cautions with plenty of bent metal.

Correction - For some reason I said Bill Elliott was entered in the X-Race at Mid-Ohio. He will be running at Road America on the 25th

I thought the same thing GA, seems he ran the TransAm race today and said that Road America will be the last time he will be in a Nascar series car.

It was a good race, MT. I like the twisty races much better than ovals.

Had a tussle while the cars were in post-race inspection - Ross Chastain and Joey Gase. They tangled some on the track and on pit road. Then tempers flared.
