News and Notes
  • Last night Trucks ran in the dirt at Eldora and Chase Briscoe won.
  • 5 Hour Energy drink is ending Nascar involvement. Monster probably won't return after next year, now 5 Hour, Lowes, Target last year and other sponsors have walked or are walking away.
  • How about a way to drum up interest - A Cup race at Eldora in the dirt? It may happen since a 3rd road course type race has been added with the Fall Charlotte roval race.
  • Are teams confusing the new laser inspection machine? Nah, they don't cheat in Nascar. http://www.espn.com/jayski/cup/2018/...pection-system
  • TV ratings - 1.33 rating with 2.20M viewers. Last year was 1.6/2.7M. Did Dale Jr. wear off already or even he can't overcome too many races on cable.

iBoats Fantasy Live
  • A rare double win at Kentucky. FlaCowboy and justkiddin 5 both scored 287 points - A tie! So congrats and congrats are in order. Doorstops for all. :D 🏆🏆
  • Cowboy is still our league leader.
  • Pole locks at 4:40 PM ET tomorrow, Friday.

For those that use practice results to make your roster picks - The Twerp, Larson, Hamlin, Jones, Blaney, Johnson, Harvick, Bowman, Truex and Busch41 were the 10 fastest in the only practice before qualifying.

Pole locks at 4:40 this afternoon.

If you picked Busch to win the pole, 5 points for you. That's if you picked Busch41, not the The Twerp!

Top 12 are Busch41, Truex, The Twerp, Hamlin, Blaney, Keso, Jones, Bowman, Suarez, Elliott, Byron and Menard.

Several teams had to re-work the right rear 1/4 panel to make it through pre-practice inspection - Harvick, Truex, Menard and Johnson. They were slappin' bondo!

2:10 PM ET Sunday is the cutoff for making your final race roster picks.

I just got home and am channel surfing and having a cold Canadian Ale after the 7 hour return trip to the Toronto airport to see my wife off to her sisters in Boca. Why go to Florida in July is another thread. Man the traffic in T.O. will be the death of me.

Nascar NH qualifying is on. I count 40 some odd fans in the stands in one shot. What happened to Nascar? Will there be more crew members and members of the media than fans tomorrow? The last time I went to the Toronto Indy the stands were nearly full for Saturday qualifying. A dozen years ago you couldn't beg, borrow or steal a seat for any Nascar Race. Are they done like dinner unless something drastic happens? Companies don't sponsor unless there are people to see their companies name plastered on a race car. No fans, no sponsors, no sponsors no Nascar. I hope not for you Nascar fans, all 40 of ya'.

In the X-Race - Bell won heat 1, Keso won heat 2 and Bell won heat 3.

Program change - The start time for the Cup race has been moved ahead by 1 hour to try to beat the weather. It is now at 1PM, so move your roster locks ahead to 1:10.

Someday I'll understand why FL locks 10 minutes after the scheduled start time.
