Lucky race 13, after Sunday night (or Monday) we'll be halfway through the Silly Season before the playoffs.

1100 miles of racing on Sunday. The Indy 500 at Noon ET and the Coke 600 6 hours later. Which race will be more exciting, the 500 which always seems to be a real race with passing or the 600 on a 1.5 mile track which has been more and more boring with the leader running away unless there are cautions?

The weather at Indy appears to be a normal Memorial Day forecast with a chance of rain, pop-ups. However Charlotte is a different matter. - Rain every day, peaking Sunday evening and the rest of the week. Same weather forecast as Humptyland! Ugh!

Here is the Charlotte schedule from MRN;

The only Cup practice before qualifying just finished. Hamlin, Blaney, Keso, ADillon, Jones, Elliott, Suarez, Truex, Larson and Byron are the fastest top 10.

Q-ing is still scheduled for 7:15 with the pole pick cutoff at 7:10.

Cup qualifying results - The Twerp, followed by Joey, Hamlin,Jones, Keso, Newman, McMurray, Blaney, Almirola, Suarez, Larson and ADillon.

Harvick never turned a wheel cuz he didn't get through inspection and will start next to last. With 600 miles in front of him, it doesn't mean much.

The Twerp won the 1st 2 heats and spun out on a restart with 40 to go. The winner is Keso, with Custer, Bell, TDillon and Sadler followi. Only one red flag rain delay along with a mess of cautions. Allgaier squished his pickle against the wall. :eek:

Until tomorrow for the Indy 500 at Noon and Cup race at 6ish and roster locks at 6:05

Danica's career finishes with a bang. She spun just shy of 200 miles in and hit the outside wall.

Harvick is out after blowing a tire.

The Twerp wins heat 1 with 27 cars on the lead lap. Are they on a 1.5 mile track?

Caution for Byron into the wall. So far every caution is for blown tires. Mmmm!
