Nano technology cleaners - anyone used?

Hey,

anyone tried using any of the boat cleaning products that say they have nano-technology? If so, would love to hear how it worked out. I've tried searching on the forum but haven't found any threads on the subject.

Thanks

What are you meaning by "nano technology"? Something like that Turtle wax spray that is so small that it fills in scratches and pores in the gelcoat?

Possibly, I've never used the turtle wax one. Where I am, local boat dealer is selling a so called Nano marine range for fibreglass, windscreens and metal. It's manufactured in Germany and expensive, but they claim will protect boat's finish for far longer than normal waxing and polishing.

They demonstrated it by pouring water on a piece of rock they'd part treated and from what I saw it acted a bit like a sealant or one of those treatments you use on a car windscreen to make the water bead off. When I've tried to find out some more info I've found some websites that claim a treatment will maintain finish and reduce waxing to maybe once a year or so.

I'm not convinced though and wondered if anyone had tried this or something similar.

I would say it sounds very similar to the Turtle Wax stuff. I think that there a few others on the market.

I have used the TW and it put a nice shine on the boat, even went on easily. As far as any lasting quality, especially a year, I cannot say I believe it.

Although, need it or not, I wax my boat every time it goes out. I have found that giving it a real good ol' fashion rubbing and buffing once a month allows me to use a spray wax in between with great results.
If you decide to try some of that stuff, be sure and let us know how it held up to the elements and what you think.

Ive used Meguires NXT Nano wax before. Normally I like Meguires products but that wax sucked, no joke. Their basic cleaner wax and carnuba wax are far more durable than that overpriced junk. First and last 'nano' wax I've used.

LOL I wondered how long till vaseline slipped in somewhere! I've done a bit more searching and some of the webpages I've read describe the cleaner more as a sealant (with nano tech properties) which allegedly provides a hard coating which maintains the finish on the boat.

The one I saw demonstrated reminded me a bit of when teflon-coating the paint job on cars started to be offered over here. Some links to better explain what talking about:
