Rules: First person types a set of lyrics, next person names the song and artist then types new set of lyrics. Repeat. No cheating, try to keep it honest.

Lyrics:

"Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye"

jk- technically the song was "Golden Slumbers".....but I think "Carry that Weight" is ok being its the next song on the album and they are often played in tandem

Hints for above lyrics:
from the 1970's
Solo artist guitar slinger that was also a member of a super group.
He's not pretty either. Still recording and touring.

Re: Name that Song

thats tricky there roscoe.

Tom Petty fits those characteristics, but I am an avid fan and know those arent his lyrics. and he was a little on the ugly side too. Could it be Joe Walsh, thats the only artist I could think of that would even write something like that.
