I was browsing the NADA page looking at engine prices and went to the Mercury page. Out of curiosity I wanted to see what my 25 hp, electric start was worth. My model number is 1-025301WD and serial is OTO93900. That page had 6 different 25 horse models listed.. 25E, 25EH, 25EL, 25ELH, 25M, AND 25ML. Which one do I have????

ODDD1 and Schematic do ya'll know???

25E=25 electric The H is for tiller steer, the L for long shaft. The M motors are manual start.

I reckon I got a 25EH then.

Thanks FouledPlug...btw..I've only been to Alaska once, went to Kodiak Island. Had a blast while I was up there. Fell off the plane and was riding to my sisters house on the Coast Gaurd base and one of the first things I saw was a truck with a Madison county, Mississippi license plate on it and it was an old friend i hadn't seen in 15 years. Small world ain't it?

efhenry, You sparked my intrest in the NADA web page, needless to say I thought their prices were a bit unfair. It was a good laugh to see that a two year old motor depreciates about 92 percent. Ah what do they know, just my two cents, take it easy. RF :)

Raleigh Wood, which motor did you look at?

They must have a problem, or your math is wrong.

92% price drop would mean if a motor sold for new $10,000, it would only be worth $800 2 years later, by your example.

Now, I could see some of the smaller, cheaper motors worth about half of their original purchase price in a couple of years.
