Alright guys here’s another one the trim/tilt motor in this boat is a total mystery. In every boat I’ve had the fluid reservoir has been attached to the motor. On this one it’s not (see pic for reference) who can educate me on this motor

Believe that is an old Prestolite trim pump. Were very common.

Can easily swap to a more modern one with the poly tank. It does have the Merc 3 pin connector on it.

What power package is in the boat?

Looks like an early 80s or late 70s Merc OB PTT motor/reservoir. Not sure if an aftermarket replacement exists, but if it does, ARCO likely made one.

Yup, that is the reservoir on the bottom. I have three boats with the same setup. See that screw between the two lines on the top? that is where you fill it.

Thanks for the reply guys I’m going to power it up and see if it works, but I will more than likely trash it at some point for a more modern set up.

If it’s working why trash it? Mine are fine and my oldest is from 1983.

Lots of Mercruisers with Alpha 1 lower units used that type of tilt and trim motor. I have one on a 1984 3 liter mercruiser and one on a 1989 4.3 liter OMC cobra. They work just fine.
