Mystery! Air threw system but not water? VIDEO!

Before I shot this video, I was not getting water up to the engine and out the pee hole. I dropped the lower unit, took my air compressor and blew up the tube that the water pump housing goes to. I heard a lil pop noise like it was blocked. after that I could blow air in either direction from up the tube to the pee hole and vise vera. I put it all back together, the ran the motor and then water did start to trickle out the pee hole while it was running. THEN IT STOPPED AGAIN!! Why?!?! As you can see i took the air compressor and blew air threw the system as it was running in the garbage can.

But how is it not? The impellar is fine.

Is the water pipe coupled to the pump? Is it connected to the inlet of the power head? Is the key in the impeller? What is the condition of the pump cup and wear plate?

That looks similar to my BF8AH. It is tricky to push the lower leg back on while lining up the shaft into the powerhead and also making sure the output of the water pump actually fits onto the water tube up to the engine. When I first did mine, the pipes were not coupled, as Paul suggested. Luckily I only ran the engine briefly before noticing. Once I removed it and fiddled enough to line them up it worked fine. Try that.
