Myrtle Beach

My lovely DW saw an ad on TV yesterday and has decided that we are going to Myrtle Beach next month. Time to use up our Westjet points before we loose them she said. Anyone have suggestions on a hotel/resort??

I have tentatively picked out the Springmaid Resort but am open to suggestions as we have never been there.

We used to go to Garden City, just a bit south of Myrtle Beach. It's been a few years, but Garden City was much less touristy than MB. The best way to spend time there was to rent a house right on the beach. Nothing beats walking out your back door and onto the beach...

Spent a week over the winter in Myrtle Beach ... very nice when no one was there ... as far as places to stay, really can't help you out. Lots of fun places to eat, and if you love baked goods, you HAVE to try Coccodotts, 106 Sayebrook Parkway. They were a winner of the show "Cupcake Wars" and oh boy were their baked goods delicious!

Myrtle beach has changed a lot over the years you can find hotels,resorts,condo rentals and camping to meet most any budget........follow the below link they have lots of good info.

sorry I haven't been there since I was in the Army, and back then I just parked my truck in the "woods" outside of town and crashed for a bit. LOL used to love going there though. fun place but lots of patrols for alcohol and such.

I have been going there since around 1957 or so, and you can pick several levels and prices. Springmaid is very nice but pricey, I normally stay at a place called the Indago inn. Its right on the beach has a very nice staff and is far enough down the strip so traffic isnt bad and depending on what you like to do I can offer a few suggestions. Restaurants and so on.
