Thanks all! It's been an interesting process; sorta like filing long form tax returns!

Dunno how long we'll have to wait till the test & interview process but am hearing that it can be 6 months or more. Hopefully not too long. She wants to register and vote next year! :D

Those that take the time to study and pass the test know much more about our country then the average natural born citizen. :faint2:

Not to get personal or even intrusive, but where is she from and what does she think about America if she cares to answer? I always like to get folk's opinion about our and shortly her country. I worked with an Indian girl that loved this country and stated she would never ever live in India ever again. And so I asked her what she liked and the conversation was amazing and an eye opening as well. Some times we take this country for granite. :thumb:

Granite or granted?

I guess either one could work.

I have to admit, between my awful spelling and improper use of the correct words, I am amazed I can get any info passed along...

I've mentioned in a couple of other posts that she's from the Philippines, so no intrusiveness. :joyous:

She and her 9 y.o son positively love it here in the US! They've been here 3 1/2 years and life just keeps getting better and better for us (other than my health issues) and she is constantly amazed by life here. And although our life is quite modest, it is still far superior to what she's ever had before.

Turns out that she's been a fan of America for her whole life. She loves the freedom that we have here, not to mention the economic opportunities as well.

She got her drivers license this year. Before that, she'd never driven anything in her life. Now she owns her own car and drives herself around like an ordinary American. Quite an accomplishment. Interesting, too! ;)

She and the boy love to fish and when we got tired of sitting on the bank, we started looking into purchasing a boat. Got the Starcraft Kingfisher back in May and did a refurb/fixup on it and have been having a great time on the water ever since.

No, she has no desire to live in the Philippines again. Yes, she'll go back to visit family and maybe do some tourist stuff. But that's about all.

Life is good here! :thumb:

Ha thanks for the update and the info. Glad she likes it in America. Most folks do and there never seems to be a line of folks trying to get out. That does say everything. And she is a nice attractive young lady as well. You should be pride to have such a nice family. I really like to hear other people's views of America being how we all too often take our country for granted (thanks 64osby for the correction ). When you work with so many nationalities (use too anyways) you get a broad view of how others seem to enjoy this country and start looking at things a little differently...maybe even better! JMHO!
