I have been reading about all of you getting your fishing trips in and now it is my turn. Leaving either Tuesday evening or early Wednesday morning for the three hour trip with two buddies to meet with my brother and catch stripers and white bass. Will be staying, as usual, at another friend of mine's cabin on the lake. Going to try the tips that jtexas and others gave me back in February or March on night fishing for these devils. Should be plenty of time on the water and copious amounts of selected hops and grains, good food, and friendly competition between the two boats. Hopefully come back with four or five gallon ziploc bags of white bass fillets. If we do catch any stripers they will be kissed and returned as they are stocked here and have been running anywhere from 8 or 9 to 22 lbs. The state record striper came from a lake about another hour north. Just love the white bass fillets though. As good or better than bluegill or crappie. The beauty of this whole thing is that my bride is as excited that I can get the time to go as I am. Maybe she is just looking forward to me being gone but I don't think that is the case as the whole fam damily goes up to this lake for a week every July for our family vacation. It's pretty cool to have my four siblings, their kids, and their kid's kids there for at least one of the weekends in July. This year it is from the 15th to the 24th. Can't tell that I'm excited can you?
