My new tow truck.

I picked up a new Tundra to tow my Crownline 240LS (~7000# loaded). Couldn't be happier.

congrats on the new 5/8 ton truck! Just hope the tranny holds up for you! the local dealer has replaced 2 under warrenty already on the 50 trucks they have sold, blown planetary gears.

That's why I'm getting a silverado... The stories of bad transmissions and bad camshafts scared me away from the Tundra although it's a gorgeous truck and I've always liked toyota ... Hopefully they were early issues and current production Tundras are improved.

I looked at the new Tundra.... I just couldn't bring myself to buy it. Why is it SOOO much more than an equally equipped Chev? Not just comparing the bottom-end Silverado, to the top-end Tundra. I've had this conversation before with a guy that bought a Tundra. Very nice truck, and supposedly, will hold resale better -- but it should considering how much more he spent on it.

Good luck! I think you'd have to look HARD to find a horrible truck to buy anymore. I guess I'm just disappointed that the market is going away from the Big 3. Sadly, my Silverado SS is made in Canada, my Impala SS is built in Mexico, and the Dodges and Fords are in the same boat.

The Tundra is mostly ASSEMBLED in the U.S.
