My wife and I bought our first boat on Saturday, a 2010 Lund WD-14. I did a lot of research online and on this forum before making the purchase so I thought I would post some pictures. We had it out all day Sunday and Monday and it runs beautifully. It's the most stable and well handling aluminum boat I have ever been in and we couldn't be happier. All the pics were taken with my cell phone, so I apologize for the quality.

Here she is when we first got it...

We picked up some seats at a local retailer that matched the boat perfectly and are very comfortable, looks like they were made for it. I riveted some 1/4" aluminum plate to the top of the benches before installing the seats. Also shown are the rod holders.

In addition to some cup holders and storage containers I also installed a rod holder to the side of the middle bench. It is actually just a cheap vertical holder but putting it on the bench lets me keep the rods secured and out of the way.

Here she is finished and taking a break on the shore. You can see the 8hp Yamaha motor we put on.

And my tow vehicle for now while we look for an SUV.

I plan on building a small carpeted platform in the bow in front of the bench with storage underneath that my dogs can sit or lay on.

Nice rig you've got there, the seats do look original to the boat:)

It's great how easy little aluminum boats are to deal with, whether on the trailer or dock or modifying the interior.

What I've done also on my 12' AeroCraft is attach a fish finder transducer to my Minn Kota for an easy, non-permanent way to use one.

Thanks! I bought a Humminbird PirahnaMax 160 portable which comes with a small battery pack, carrying case and a transducer that attaches via suction cup. It works fantastic and packs up in the case for easy transport.

Yup those are good little fish finders, be careful with the suction cup though, I managed to lose mine on the river one day.

Thats a nice little rig you have. Ive looked at the same model you have, but I just cant seem to part with my 74 lund S-14. Basicly the same boat you have but with wood seats and a lot more "used". LOL You wont find a better "little" boat! Congrats

Thanks Bill,

My wife and actually wanted the WC-14 which has the walk through rear seats and the wood topped benches but we couldn't find one anywhere with a 15" transom. I would have liked to go with a 20" transom but I already had the motor and I couldn't justify the cost of a new long shaft.

I've had the boat out 5 times now and it is great, I love it.

Wow how nice...
Welcome to this forum, i myself i'm new here and wife and i also just bought a new Lund WC 14 ,in fact our very first boat period. I grew up back in the the former Iron Curtain country of Romania and the mighty Danube was basically in our back yard and o always wish had a boat to cruise the river. We for now have just a 2 Hp Honda 4 stroke motor that will have to do for now,i would like to get a 25 Hp but Honda's is still on carburetors so i'm looking at a Yamaha 30 Hp EFI ...but cheap they are not, they are just shy of $ 7000.00 !
I do envy you, we bought our boat a week and a half ago and the only water our boat has seen it's the rain (the boat has a cover,two...one for storage and one for highway use...i love Canadian Tire sales...) water, i have to get my boat operators permit or else $ 250.00 fine !... i will post some pictures a little later.

Have fun.......
Dan :)

Thanks for the comments Dan. This is also my first boat and I think you will love it. I also bought quite a few things from Canadian Tire but I ended up ordering a trailerable cover online. I am also in the process of getting a custom bench cushion made for the center seat that will match the flip ups I installed :D

Changes to the new boat already. I sold the 8hp Yamaha and got a 15hp Honda. Stills trolls nicely for fishing but has a little extra power for the rivers and moving around on the lakes. It is actually quieter and has less vibration then the Yamaha. I also got my boat cover and upgraded my tow vehicle. Now I can pretty much get into any lake I want.

Very nice Lund! Just got my first boat it's a Lund Rebal 14.75
Question, where did you get your rod holders? I been looking
for some but all they sell around here are the kind you have to
bolt or screw on. Or metal that will scratch the paint.

Thanks
Don

Thanks Don!

The rod holders are the bolt on type (made to bolt to a wide qunwale) but you can buy a clamp that they bolt to which then clamps to the side of the boat. I got them at a local sporting goods store but they are both made by Scotty so I'm sure you can find them around.
