I have a 1986 70 hp 3 cyl and an 85 8 hp 2 cyl kicker. if after running them, i leave the fuel lines attached i end up with fuel/oil leaking down the lower unit and dripping on the ground. the motors run fine, but i have to unplug the fuel lines at the end of each trip and burn 'em dry to be enviornmentally ok.

Should this be happening? what normally causes this?Do I need to rebuild all the carbs?

You obviously have a fuel leak. Find & fix as this is not normal. Do not run the fuel dry at the end of the boating day. Remember there is oil mixed with the fuel and when you run the engine dry you have no lubrication to the rings or cylinder walls.
