Me and the Mr. went out about 4 yesterday to fish West Galveston Bay as we usually do on the weekend. With all the rain we've had recently the saline content has been a little off so we didn't really expect to catch much.

We set up a nice drift, it was a beautiful late afternoon. Mr. LF caught the first keeper speckeled trout, then another, then a nice sandy. I couldn't even catch a trash fish. I didn't care, I just enjoyed being out on the water with a rod and reel. We hit a dry spell and were just about to go back around for another drift when >>>>BAM<<<< my line went screaming, I had no idea what its was I just knew he was a fighter. It looked brown and at first I thought it might be a lemon shark. I wasn't thrilled about bringing it onboard, besides I wanted to play with him for awhile. After 15-20 minutes I brought him in and jumped up and down and screamed when I saw it was a beautiful 25" redfish. Its been so long since I caught one I forgot what it felt like.

When you spend as much money and time on the water as we do its nice to finally land that keeper red. The slot is 22" to 28". It was a huge thrill for me.
