Howdy doody from sunny Pasadena Ca. This is my very first post and I would like a little info on Honda OBs.
I just acquired an early 80's 7.5 and based on some of the posts I have read I'm wondering if I might have made a mistake.
I bought this motor for $50.00. It's in fair condition but has no spark. I'm sure I can get it running but I'm
not sure how much I have to put into it. I have no intention of keeping it but I like tinkering and I think I might be
able to make a few bucks. So here's what I would like to know...Is this perticular motor any good? Is it worth fixing? Are parts available?
Are parts expensive? Will it be worth anything after it's cleaned up and running?
Thanks

ted,

Welcome!

I'm sure you can fix it up and get it going.

Help us all out here and post some additional infornmation. Such as: Model # and Serial #. Those numbers should be located on the clamp bracket.

I would also suggest that you buy a manual. If you sell it, it's a good selling tool. They're available on this website (iboats).

Or, many libraries have them that you can copy a page or two.

The best indicator of value would be the local classifieds.

You might/should be able to get a couple hundred for it.

I'd have bought it. The prop is or almost worth 50.00. How do you know it doesnt have spark? If it has compresion stay with it a while in my opinion.
