Re: My first Glastron
Well since I last posted, I had a chance to look at the transom. I knew the floors were bad, but have discovered the transom is not far behind. Since it is May, we decided to quick fix the transom, and just replace the floor to get us through the season. Come fall, I will be tearing the boat apart to see if the hull is worth fixing, or time to just find another one. I am sure it needs stringers too.
I used two pieces of 1/4" aluminum plate sandwiched at the transom. The piece of aluminum I used had two cooling fans attached to it. I was able to cut the two pieces plus two more for the inside of the transom where the engine bolts come through.
I did it to prevent this.
