Thanks to all of you who helped me with my frozen up motor. I sprayed liquid wrench in both cylinders and let it sit for a couple of days. Then I took off the pull starter and got on the 13/16 nut that holds the fly wheel in place . I had to tap it a little to get it to move some and then I worked it back and forth and gained more ground . I sprayed a little liquid wrench as I made each move. Well now the pistons are'nt froze up any more and the pull starter works nice and smooth. I also had to reset the air gap and lubed all the nesisary moveing parts as per the evinrude original repair manual I bought from the dealer. It seems like someone bought this engine and did'nt do any maintenance to it and when it finally quite running they just set it aside and it sat for years. It literary looks like brand new under the engine covers. The spark plugs were worn about 0.010 each over their original gap setting of 0.040 on each plug. I am now draining the gear case lube oil and will refill when I have a chance to pick up a quart of high vis gear lube. I can only hope the the water pump works alright, if not I'll have to open it up. So far I fell very lucky to see that it apeers that no one has done anything at all to this little motor. I will run it as if I am breaking in a new motor as one of you had suggested and then will allways run it on a 50:1 ratio. I also removed the saddle tank wire support braket since it did'nt have one when I bought it. I would like to get a small 2 or 3 gallon stand alone fule tank instead because the original saddle tank only held about 2/3's of a gallon of fuel. Thanks again for your help and suggestions on my problem. Best of luck to all that have helped me , its meant a lot to me . Dan Metz ,www.uptownwestmont@mindspring.com
