There are a lot of oil on the surface of water during running the motor. But there is not any in the driving way.

I have replaced the spark plug and tested the compression which are from 120 and 130 for all the 4 sparks.

What happens for my motor. How can I fix it?

Thank you.

Hi Tassie,

Yes This summer I put over oil into fuel and motor had a lot of issue. Later I changed the spark, the it was better than before.

But I found there is a lot of oil on the surface of water.

What is my next.for the motor?

Thank you

Using too much fuel:

Choke not fully open when not engaged?
Leak in carb or fuel line which eventually drains down the exhaust leg into the water.
Or a fuel pump in need of a rebuild kit. When they go bad, they leak fuel out the back side ( you can't see it ).
The fuel goes in the crank case and creates a "partially flooded" condition, and the engine runs rich, consuming too much gas, and expelling the rest into the water.

Things like a bad fuel pump, the exhaust snout missing, propeller change, air restriction,
idle set too high can make it use more fuel.

The oil on the water, that can be from excessive idle,
running in the driveway while working on the motor?

Also the gearcase and if you have power trim?
They can cause a sheen on the water.
Unburned gas/oil that leaks down from the carbs can do it too.
