My boat left without me.

For years I've been toying with the Idea of upside down Christmas trees to save space but couldn't figure out how to make a ceiling mounted stand that was practical. Why oh why didn't I think of artificial trees. Yesterday I seen on the news these upside down trees (with floor stands) that are selling for big bucks and they were SOLD OUT.

Re: My boat left without me.

i've had a few like that too.... I wanted to create cup holder flower pot/air fresheners..

2 years later they came out with the daisy's in the volkswagon beetles.

I came up with the idea of toolboxes between the frame rails of a pickup. one of the asian trucks now has it standard. just a lil diff design than I had. mine raised the bed, theirs raised the floor.

I also thought about marketing baby formula in disposable baby bottles. nipple upside down under the cap. I think they have some variation of it out now too.

I've got a couple more i'm working on and gonna try and get it out there first. :D

I have an idea to reduce the weight of modern vehicles by several hundred pounds and the cost by several hundred dollars.

BUT I am not telling anybody about it except over a beer or scotch and a good cigar. :D

JB I am currently packing my suitcase full of various 12, 18,25,30,35 and 50 year old single malt whiskies :D

Now I just have to hope I can start my Evinrude and make it across the Pond (no JB! Don't move this to Johnson/Evinrude Topics!) :D :D

I can reduce the weight of my vehicle by 478 pounds................I just get Ms Deezy to exit :p

Hmmm.

I though I replied to Elmer, but it isn't here.

Did I have a senior moment and fail to click on Add Reply?

Or did I get ZAPPED?

Anyway; Thanks, Elmer. I like MacAllens 25 and White Owl Diplomats. :)

JB you sure about that?

I take it you mean Macallans?

Or is MacAllens another whisky I've not heard of; which could be the case, I'm no expert, although I know what I like.

The only reason I ask is that Macallans only sell 20 and 30 in UK, now if they do a 25 I'll be wanting to try some :D :D

maybe a good excuse to take my boat back to Scotland and visit the distillery ;)

all in the name of research Ms Deezy, honest :D :p

Re: My boat left without me.

It must be Macallans. My son usually buys the 12 and I have it when I am with him.

About 5 years ago I gave him a 5th of the 25 that cost me $275USD. Came in a lovely oak box. It is still not empty. We toast Holidays only. :)

For myself, Chivas Regal is about as far as I can reach on my budget. :)

Re: My boat left without me.

I know the feeling well JB, trust me!

Didn't realise how expensive it was over the Pond: GULP! (or rather no gulping at those prices!).

I'll have to hunt around for a 25 and see if I can afford it. Quite often I can pick up bargains from friends within the trade: even with shipping to the US it should be a fraction of what you pay.

Ahhhh, Chivas Regal. You have got me thirsty now and its not even meal time yet....... :D

Gotta be careful with shipping alcohol overseas. Customs doesn't like that. Keep it under certain amounts and labeled as a gift, and you might be ok.

AK Chappy

Re: My boat left without me.

I inevented the integral kid car seat before Chrysler came out with 'em in the mini-van. I even drew it on a napkin . . . I missed the market though as I was thinking of airplane carseats more. When we were younger lugging carseats through an airport really sucked . . .

JB,

I'll get the 25 year old Macallan's but I'd prefer to give you a taste of some 30 year old Laphroaig. :D

I am actually kinda serious. We commercialize new vehicle technologies . . . all engine technolgies so far, but we'd look at anything . . .

Re: My boat left without me.

Sorry, QC. My idea is in the electrical and electronics system. Came out of teaching robotics and computer control technology.

I used up my engine technologies ideas during my racing days, and those were mostly on small air cooled 2 strokes (karts).

Now, I never had any Laphroaig, much less 30. It must be something to tell my grandbuddies about.

I came up with the idea of remote starting in 1986, except it used phone lines.

I thought of it one day looking out my office window after freezing rain had coated the cars with ice & said to my coworkers, "we ought to be able to dial our car phones [a few cars had phones then but none of us had car phones] to start our cars so they'll be warm when we get out there."

That's as far as it went. It's not quite the same as the remote starters they have now; they don't have enough range to work from a fourth-floor office.

Another idea I had that hasn't been done yet:

An alarm clock that shuts itself off before it rings...so you don't have to wake up, turn it off & go back to sleep.
