I had my Johnson 80 electradrive(V4AL18C)1966. serviced and was told all I needed was new plugs and gear oil, which I got them to do. Im having trouble locating a manual in Aus every dealer is saying they are out of print so it will be a while before I get one so sorry If I keep asking questions here.<br />Now my question. I took it out today for the first time and it ran fine I dont know what size prop is on it I couldnt see any markings. I was running comfortably at 5000rpm and speedo isnt working. I was doing maybe 20-25 ish (at a guess) mph. What are safe revs for this motor? On full throttle it went to 6000 and this is as far as the Tacho went (I only used these higher revs for 30 sec or more Im not sure if this would be over revving. Any help as to what is safe or optimal.<br />Also my ammeter was showing +20, is that ok?<br /><br />Thanks again.<br />Murray<br /><br />PS boat is 15' f'glass runabout.
