Well this is a new record........ I cut the grass today (first cut) and it is the earliest first cut I can remember.

The only solace I have is this may be the last cut for me also............. I have knee surgery scheduled in two weeks and again 8 weeks after that. My lovely wife is going to hire someone to do the cutting.

I've mowed twice. Hope to get a couple triaxle loads of dirt dumped soon so I can redo the yard. That will mean time to sed and grow ...

Nothing out of the norm here. I've mowed the yard 4or 5 times now. Mowed the pastures twice so far this year.

Haven't mowed mine yet only because I live in sand and it takes awhile to get started. Soon tho, usually it takes till the end of May for the 1st time. Have a school to mow in a neighboring town. They're in clay. A lawn guys best friend. Already mowed a few accounts over there. As others, I can't remember mowing this early. But that's ok.... $$$.

Brotha... seed in the Fall, when Mother Nature does. Seeding in the Spring is asking for weeds, crab grass and the immature grass will suffer come the first heat wave.

Seed in fall. Tryin' to save you much grief.

Been mowing regularly since February this year. Thank goodness the boy can push the mower now!

Just got through cutting mine for about the 5th time this year. Funny, I enjoy cutting grass the first few times each year. After that, it kind of loses it's allure. By August, cutting grass just plain sucks.

Interesting, isn't it? "We" can come up with fertilizers and chemicals that will make the grass grow thicker, greener, and faster. "We" can whip up concoctions that will kill every green thing in your lawn..........but "we" can't seem to mix up something that will allow it to grow nice and green, but just a bit slower......like needing a trim once a month, instead of once a week.

Getting my "conspiracy theorist" mentality roused up a bit.........

Try living next to a professional landscaper perfectionist! It's downright brutal but it does keep me on my toes.

Mine is the home where plant-y things come to die... I hate yardwork with a freakin' passion.

The grounds of my last house were always the worst looking on the block. When we moved into this house 11 years ago, the PO had a lanscaping service. I just retained the guy and never looked back. He's been here 4 times already this season. Just very happy that it ain't me doing it.

Ditto John. We've met several times with a landscaper to design some beds and foliage. I have only two requirements...first the foliage must be self-sufficient and there will be no "corners" to the bedding that will not allow me to get close with the riding mower:D
