To make a long story short the battery went dead on my Pontoon boat, I had just launched the boat and tied her up at the dock.
so I jumped the battery with a portable jump starter after that the motor ran really rough so I shup it down, went and got another battery motor still ran rough it has always started 1st key bump and ran perfect.
Took it to a shop where a diagnostic check was done, compression was good, fuel pressure was gold, basically the motor is a good motor however the motor was still running rough.
Changed the plugs, number one and number three plugs after starting it were black, all coil packs checked good so the mechanic basically made the assumption that I fried the ECM, he suggested I take it to an Authorized Mercury dealer to have it checked as he didn’t have the diagnostic tools to verify it.
So I went into Mercury site and found an authorized dealer approx 10miles from where I live.
I took it to them they told me it was the VST so they ordered a new float, they also said that the small hose in there was cracked after the sourced the parts the problem was still there do they told me I needed new fuel pumps so they sourced those now they are saying it’s throwing a code that they are having trouble clearing sorry I don’t know what the code is, I’m starting to wonder if they know what they are doing they’ve had my boat three weeks a week of that was waiting for parts.
I don’t know what to do at this point any suggestions.
