My 1995 Johnson 90 HP Needs a New Starter... Help!

Could someone give me a quick tutorial on how to replace the starter on a 1995 Johnson 90 HP Outboard? I was just gonna wing it, but figured I'd probably post something online first in case someone has any good tips. Thanks in advance!

Best bet is to get a shop manual. I recommend OMC. Not a big job.

First, confirm that your starter is bad. 3 out of 4 starters that are replaced by inexperienced owners do not need replacing.<br /><br />Go to the Engine FAQ section and follow the troubleshooting in the "Outboard wont start" article.<br /><br />Good luck, and let us know what you find. <br /><br />Moving this to Johnson Troubles
