So thanks to those who helped with my previous posts and all my maintenance I did.. so far WAS so good..until...

I started doing my fishing tournaments, for the first time since I did my maintenance work a few weeks ago, at take off and sometimes this happened in the past at wide open throttle the engine will lose all combustion, turn off, and it'll do this little ticking noise for about 3 seconds while its turning off and then completely be off. I put it back in neutral, turn it on again, and it'll keep doing it !!! ... I don't think the smoke was any more or less than normal? could it be cold? that's whats causing it and it needs more warm up time? whats the ticking noise? it hasn't done this since I did the maintenance so why now?

ugh, im so f'n frustrated -_- any help would be great you guys - thanks.

If you stall in F gear and the boat is coasting, the LU clutch may ratchet, causing that ticking. That's normal.

As for stalling at WOT, that could be fuel starvation (very common) (did you ever get a confirmed-good hose and tank?), or a marginal fuel pump (on the side of the carb)... or it could be a loss of ignition. That could be due to a worn/shorted brown kill wire, defective kill switch, overheating exciter coil, overheating CD, overheating/failing ignition coil etc. When that happens, check plug condition. If very wet, likely loss of ignition. If quite dry, likely fuel starvation.

How old is that motor ? was used on fresh or salt waters ? if used on salt water, are there visible white line deposits surrounding the cylinder head or exhaust cover ? Are all electrical component grounds and crankcase's ones shinny and clean ?

To diagnose if current fuel hose connectors are sucking air at wot. Wind several turns of electric tape on both connectors where clicks onto their respective male connectors and check if issue persists. Assume that tank's air vent was fully opened...
