I have a 1989 Johnson GT150 that is on a boat I am repairing. It has not been in the water in a couple of years. I was checking out some of the switches and when I turn the main power on the console, the trim starts going down. This just started doing this because I have had the power on many times before. Any Ideas? Could this be a bad relay?

That engine has two trim relays, one for up, one for down. Your situation is pretty unusual. I'd start by checking the actual trim switches. You've got one on the lower cowling, one on the throttle handle and many bass boats have a third factory-installed trim switch by the front trolling motor. Has the boat been covered during it's two year storage? If any of these switches get rain water in them they short out internally and cause that problem.

Start disconnecting the wires from the switches and see if you can find the bad one.
