Murcury 850 thunderbolt stator

I have a merc I believe it's a 73? It's serial 4233250 I need a stator the one I have on there is 2 wires coming from it I can't find that same style stator ? I attached a picture of the stator I have found similar I belive this us a 10 Amp stator ? If so I found some but they have like 5 wires coming from them ? I'm not sure any help is appreciated

Not sure where you are looking.----Just a few clicks and I find a stator with 2 yellow wires.---Ouch--$450 or so.

It just looked difference mines fully coated the others ones looked different I just wasn't sure

That stator only charges the battery. It is separate from the ignition system. I would recommend you make sure the ign system functions, before worry about the stator on your motor.

The triggers on those distributor models often gets intermittent at this point in it's life.

Engine runs fine just not charging battery

See if CDI Electronics or Sierra make one. They are used on the 1970s to 1980 4 and cylinder models. The last 4 cylinder motor that used that kind of stator was the 1975 Merc 850. The last IL6 that used that stator was the 1979 1/2 Merc 115HP. Later motors used the ADI style stator with many more wires.
