Hi.
Put it here too.
Mercury 120XR 1996 later ingnition model with CDM modules.
New red stator originally.
New trigger originally.
New reticifer CDI.
Rev limiter okay/works.
Put 4 new CDI, CDM modules on two month ago. First one dies, then another dies on high rpm., now a third stone dead!!!!??.
Someone that can think of something that can kill them??. Only thing i see in papers with CDM modules from CDI, are that the kill switch shall not go over 2 volt, no time. And it?s not (0,3 ing. off, 1,6 ingn, on). And you shall newer run them without high volt cable connected to a grounded spark plug.
Engines runs fine between this happens, then suddenly one CDM is gone. Have not been the same, Started with number 3 ore 4, now number 2 cylinder.
Checked the Sparkplug now when changed the CDM. And it was perfektly colored. So not burned ore other problem.
Strange??. Ore are this modules known to be tricky ??.
