Mr upper shift shaft seal

Worn out and leaking. I can't get the setscrew on the lever arm to budge. Is cutting the shaft a viable option?

drill a hole in the arm, and hit it with a chisel to split the arm, then remove the screw.

Ended up drilling the shafts in two. Expensive little sucker.

I appreciate the thought. Can't wait to get it all back together. I haven't had reverse in some time.
