Re: mq10 wont run with cowl
Knowing about the exhaust leak issue with the 9? and the problem of torn or cracked bellows in the lower leg I decided to check it out on any motor I considered buying. Before I bought my 1967 MQ-13, I ran it and trolled with it with the cowl on to check for the exhaust leak. It made no difference so I bought it. Later I saw a little hole drilled into the starbord side of the pan, just below and back from the shifter. I thought somebody had pulled a fast one by doing a quick and dirty fix, but after looking around at others, plus some brochure pictures I came to realize that the factory put that hole there. Dad's 1965 MQ-11 did not have the hole.
