2001 4.3 Gi (Volvo) Yesterday while having a little fun i found what was left of my alarm in the bilge..The lower half has seperated (to the bilge) from the upper half still laying on the manifold...What could cause something like that...Virbration loosening it up and just bouncing it around...

Re: MPI alarm blew

I've never seen one come apart, but they are just glued together.
PS: Since it's a Gi engine, I would bet it's actually a 2000 engine (an EF model)
Got your full model number or sn handy?

My Gawd Man....... The problem with your engine was so bad the thing exploded it was going off so loud   You should turn that hearing aid up a notch or two. :p

Anyway, it is a 2000 EF engine, only a month out of warranty, I would bet VP would cover it ............ if you ask nice.
