Moving boat to new trailer.... DONE!

Got my boat moved to the new trailer this weekend without having to go to the water.<br /><br />The trailer the boat was sitting on was not road worthy enough to make the trip to the river to swap.... so screw gravity, were moving it anyway.<br /><br />Pictures at...<br /><br />[URL"http://usersweb.primary.net/~ndemge/boatpics" [url]http://usersweb.primary.net/~ndemge/boatpics

Got lucky and it was 50-60 in st. louis this weekend. Won't hit the water till probably late may. <br /><br />Still have some work to do on the thing, but I'm a LOT more motivated to work on it now that it's on a trailer that can be towed more than 50 feet without worry of it falling of. Now that I know I can actually take it someplace, I'll start working on it

Neat! You got to be a little bit nervous when you see your boat suspended over that hard ground.

Yes. Very Nervous. But had very compitent help with me. 10k lbs straps, and we had it perfectly balanced.<br /><br />First attempt we were 1 foot too far back, the bow still had about 50 lbs of down force. we moved up a foot and the entire boat lifted together. <br /><br />Lined up the new bunks as well as I could from measurements... put the boat on, then backed in the shed to crawl underneath and re-align the bunks. total project took about 4 hours.

with a little photolab work, you could make pic #10 pretty interesting. looked like an interesting evolution.
