just finished moving the axle on my 18' 1974 murray trailer to acommadate a larger boat. with impact gun it only took and hour. stood a concrete block on end a couple of 2x4 blocks on top of them. loosened bolts, removed bolts. use tongue jack to lift trailer, roll axle forward 2 holes and then lowerd trailer and rebolted. it was easier than i thought. of course the boat was off the trailer.

if I did that here with that old of a trailer it would read, fired up my smoke wrench and cut the axle ubolts then replaced all the attaching hardware :) :) . would have taken 3 hours to find any hardware for that old of a trailer here.
in fact its hard to find any trailer parts here :)

this obviously has been a fresh water trailer. the only rust is on some of the bolt threads.

Praise the Lord and pass the PB Blaster!
I was able to get all the bolts loose on my old 94 salt water Load Rite 2 years ago by using that great stuff, didn't even break a bolt!

Hey Rodbolt -- we in the midwest refer to a smoke wrench as a "gas axe". When we do precision work we measure with a micrometer, mark the spot with chalk, cut with a gas axe, and then hammer and file to fit.
