Hi all,
I've been looking for boat parts to complete my 1978 Chris Craft 17' Lancer restoration and I have just found a hull and trailer about 25 West of Minneapolis, MN. I can have for cheap and it has a lot of the parts I need (along with a decent hull, but a crap trailer...
Anyway, I want to get the boat and trailer from Minnesota back to my home in Eastern Connecticut... Short of driving there (1350 miles and back) To say nothing of rebuilding, and getting a temp registration so I can haul it back... I would like to get some ideas about how to move the boat and trailer back home...
I can get the Boat and Trailer for under $250 and a shipping company will flat bed the boat for about $1350... (making it not worth the parts I need...)
So Ideas, thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers,
Bob

Don't know how to find them, but there are several folks out there with a Pickup and trailer. They haul cars, freight and other stuff. Check around and should be able to find them

Not knowing the parts you need....maybe an option is to gather up your tools and drive to MN in a pickup or with a trailer. Part it out on the seller's property, load up the stuff you need and give him a few extra bucks for a trip to the landfill with the trailer and leftovers.

This would have to be prearranged of course, but the seller may bite. If you need a hoist for an engine pull, scout out a shop close to the seller that has a hoist. ...a few more bucks. Fewer if you have the engine loose and ready to drop in your PU/trailer.

fly out there on allegiant or frontier or one of the other $30 a flight airlines these days

buy a sawzall

cut the boat up for the parts you need. package them on a single skid and ship them back to you for about $200 with the LTL of your choice. ship the sawzall back with the tools

get back on the plane
