I was looking at side rail options for a Boston Whaler sport 15. I saw this rail https://www.specialtymarine.com/col...s/boston-whaler-classic-15-bow-rail-oem-style

Looks good. In the installation instructions it mentions you may not be able to attach some of the sanction anchors into wood (only foam on the other side of the fiberglass) and need to perform one of a couple options they show.

Have any of you dealt with this? I was wondering if there is a way to know (without drilling needless holes) if your going to have wood at a particular spot along the possible areas you could mount a sanction. Moving the sanction mount, slightly, seems possible from what I read. Seems like a good idea if it saved going through the work of one of the alternative's.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... My experience with whalers is, expect every hole to be nothin' but foam behind it,.....
If ya run into wood, consider yerself Lucky on that one,.....
