I'm trying to install an hour meter on a '00 Honda BF40 tiller w/o PTT. I've had the meter since day one and am currently turning it on and off manually each time I run the engine. I've been through the books but it seems that since it is a tiller model and has a starter button, all circuits appear to be hot whenever the battery is connected. Does anyone know a circuit I can tap into that will give power only when it is running. I'm hesitent to tap into the ignition circuit.
Anybody familiar with Honda midrange Tiller Engines???

Thanks

------------------

160592 (4 cycle) is the part number and you'll find it by doing a search under item number at http://www.northerntool.com/ 35 bucks

160596 is the one for 2 cycle engines. I use one all the time to check me antique engines. All you do is wrap the wire around the a plug wire tape in in place. It will read rpms and keeps running hrs.

Well, I still haven't found a way to connect it yet. I guess I'll keep using my manual switch method until I have the time to sit and figure it out!!!

Nav
