I just purchased a 20' pontoon with a 40 hp mercury 4 stroke. However there is a lake I would like to use quite often to fish where the max hp allowed on the lake is 10hp. I already have a 9.9 Evenrude Therefore, I would like to mount it on the pontoon for those occasions. Is there a bracket I could purchase to andmount on the pontoon that will accomidate the 9.9 hp when needed if so how is it mounted and where can I get one?

There are lots of brackets available but the question you should be asking is not "how" to mount it but "where" to mount it. Unless you modify the engine pod there simply is not room for another motor. If the HP limited lake is not very large, you might consider a bow mounted trolling motor. That however, is not a viable option either if that lake is quite large. Electric motors, like electric cars, do have limited range.

you have to build a false transom to hang on to one of the wings, over one tube, this can be as simple as a angle section of qtr in. aluminum plate. It would bolt to the top deck area(without punching through the pontoon), than a Garelick type outboard bracket would bolt to the alum plate This will set your motor up pretty high so a "drop down" sailboat kind of bracket and,, or,, a long shaft motor is best to get the prop solidly down into the water.Wish there was a commercial bracket available but I dont know of any, I need one myself and may have to go to a welder to get one made. Wish I had picks but I dont, Maybe others can post some..

Depends on what you really want & how fancy you want it? -I assume the smaller motor is a tiller style motor?
Pics of front & back of your boat would help too-

I have a 115 Merc as my main motor and a 9.9 four stroke as my trolling motor. "Twisted tight" the 9.9 goes about 8 mph with my 24' pontoon with the enclosure up.
