Motor Year Please??

I just obtained a force 120 HP and the only number i can find is on the motor block M383878 can if that is the serial which i believe it is can someone tell me what year it is thanks

Welcome to iboats.

The serial number will look like "OE1254336".
Will only be found on the id tag on the transom bracket.

May possibly be on a small white paper sticker on the starter.

Transom bracket ok that gives me a little more direction or possibly the starter i will check that out I had all kinds of problems with this motor today, first my starter kept spitting the spring hold down nut for some wierd reason locknut was no longer locking, got that figured out then the thing didnt want to run right, acts like it is not firing on all four only getting about 10 mpg wot normally i get about 30 think it is just plugs well see

Well found out motor is a 1991 and all four cylinders are shot 1&2 cracked sleeves and scored piston, 3&4 scored walls. I need to find a powerhead thats not over 2000 dollars it hardly seems worth it for me to spend that kind of money.

I seen a brand new 3 cyl powerhead (block only)not too long ago on ebay for 300 i think it was. Wasn't even painted yet. Maybe you can find a 4 cyl on there.
